Who is wise?

There are many people these days that are always willing to give advice. Sometimes whether we want it or not. But, is it really good advice? We have to be careful about the wisdom of others. One of the best ways to tell if the advice given to you is good, is if it contains scripture, or a reference to Christ. 1 Corinthians 1:20-25 reads " 20 Where is the wise person? Where is the teacher of the law? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. 22 Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, 23 but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, 24 but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength." Let's face it. There is no greater wisdom, than the wisdom gained from a devotion to the study of God's word. By seeking God, and an active prayer life, we gain wisdom. Even if the rest of the world thinks that we out of our minds. So, the next time you have a struggle and someone tries to give advice, see if they use scripture to help you. If not, do not be too trusting of it, and search the Word yourself. You will never go wrong with Christ.

Thanks, and God Bless You all this week.

  1. I agree with this Coach Boyd. In todays world there are many people willing to give advice and sometimes it is as far away from God as possible. As believers in Christ we should really consider where advice comes from. GOD'S WISDOM is what we need. Can't go wrong there!
